04/19/2012: Five armed assailants attacked a journalist outside his home in Uralsk city, West Kazakhstan province, Kazakhstan. The journalist, Lukpan Akmedyarov, was severely injured in the attack. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources suspected Akhmedyarov was targeted because of his political views.
