04/27/2012: Assailants attacked Sudan People's Liberation Army (SPLA) troops in Malakal city, Upper Nile state, South Sudan. The soldiers repelled the attack, and an unknown number of people were killed or wounded. No group claimed responsibility for this incident; however, SPLA officials attributed it to the South Sudan Democratic Army.
