Incident Summary:

05/12/2012: Three assailants beat and attempted to abduct Boris Borisov from his vehicle in Sanaa city, Amanat Al Asimah governorate, Yemen. Borisov, the Bulgarian ambassador to Yemen, was injured in the attack, but he managed to escape from the assailants. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, a police official attributed it to Al-Qa'ida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP).
