06/01/2012: Assailants attacked Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers who were conducting an anti-poppy drive in Qaisar district, Faryab province, Afghanistan. One soldier was killed and a police officer injured in the attack. No group claimed responsibility for the incident, but officials attributed it to the Taliban.
