Incident Summary:

06/03/2012: A suicide bomber detonated an explosives-laden vehicle in the vicinity of a church in Yelwa area, Bauchi city, Bauchi state, Nigeria. The bomber had attempted to drive the car into the church but had been stopped by a checkpoint, causing him to drive the car into the security gate instead. At least 16 people were killed and an unknown number injured. Boko Haram claimed responsibility for the incident.
