Incident Summary:

06/10/2012: An assailant opened fire on worshippers at the Church of the Brethren church in Biu city, Borno state, Nigeria. One person was killed in the attack, and three more were injured. This was one of two similar attacks on churches on the same day. Boko Haram claimed responsibility for the incident, stating that it was carried out in direct response to claims by the Nigerian government that recent military action had weakened the group.
