Incident Summary:

07/09/2012: Assailants drove a car into a North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) foot patrol in Marja district, Helmand province, Afghanistan. At least one civilian, who had been working as a linguist for NATO, died in the attack. NATO forces returned fire, killing the driver of the car and causing it to hit and kill a civilian bystander. No group claimed responsibility for the attack.
