07/23/2012: An explosives-laden vehicle detonated after the driver was shot in Al-Ba'aj district, Nineveh, Iraq. The assailant was killed and seven police officers were injured in the attack. This was one of 41 coordinated attacks across Iraq on this day. Al-Qaida in Iraq claimed responsibility for the incidents and stated that the attacks were a part of their "Breaking the Walls" campaign.
