08/16/2012: An explosives-laden vehicle detonated outside shops in Zafraniya district, Baghdad city, Baghdad governorate, Iraq. This was one of two attacks targeting shops on this date; this first was designed to draw a crowd. At least 27 people were killed and 56 wounded across both attacks. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed it to Al-Qaida in Iraq.
