Incident Summary:

08/18/2012: Assailants detonated an explosives-laden vehicle outside of the intelligence service headquarters in the At Tawahi district, Aden city, Adan governorate, Yemen. At least 14 Yemeni soldiers were killed and seven people injured in the attack. Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) claimed responsibility for the incident, stating that the intelligence headquarters was attacked because it had been receiving support from the United States and had targeted AQAP fighters.
