Incident Summary:

08/24/2012: Assailants attacked the Asmari mosque in Zliten town, Murqub district, Libya. There were no reported casualties; however, the attackers destroyed the Abdel Salam al-Asmar mausoleum and the adjacent historical library with grenades and a bulldozer. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, Libyan officials attributed it to Muslim fundamentalists.
