Incident Summary:

09/05/2012: Assailants attempted to detonate an explosive device at a cell phone tower on Gomber Road, Bauchi state, Nigeria. The police discovered the device before it went off. This was one of 21 identifiable cell phone towers or buildings targeted on September 5, 2012. Boko Haram claimed responsibility for the incidents and said that they attacked the towers and buildings because cell phone companies were providing information to authorities about Boko Haram members.
