Incident Summary:

09/09/2012: An explosives-laden vehicle detonated near a convoy carrying Tuz Khurmato's mayor's bodyguards in Tuz Khurmato district, Saladin governorate, Iraq. Ten people were injured in the blast. This was one of 36 attacks around Iraq on September 9, 2012. Al-Qa'ida in Iraq claimed responsibility for the incidents, claiming that they were revenge for the "campaign of extermination and torture of Sunni Muslim detainees in Safavid prisons."
