Incident Summary:

10/19/2012: An explosives-laden vehicle detonated in Achrafieh neighborhood, Beirut, Lebanon. The blast targeted the unmarked vehicle of Brigadier General Wissam al-Hassan, head of the intelligence branch of the Lebanese Internal Security Forces (ISF), killing him, his driver, a bodyguard, and five civilians and injuring 78 more people. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the attack to the Unit 121 faction of Hezbollah.
