Incident Summary:

11/05/2012: Assailants ambushed a border patrol in the Sharuah area of Najran province, Saudi Arabia. Two border guards were killed and four assailants were injured in the attack; in addition, eleven assailants were captured. The assailants included ten Saudi citizens and one Yemeni citizen. The Saudi captives had recently been released from prison; they were imprisoned for activities linked to Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP).
