11/07/2012: Mortar shells, possibly targeting the President's palace, struck the Mezzah neighborhood in Damascus city, Damascus governorate, Syria. Mezzah is home to the minority Alawite people and to the military elite. Three people were killed and another seven were injured in the blasts. Free Syrian Army claimed responsibility for the incident.
