12/01/2012: An assailant lobbed a hand grenade at the private residence of Saleng A. Sangma in Ringreygittim, West Garo Hills District, Meghalaya state, India. Sangma, the Minister of Meghalaya Community and Rural Development, was unharmed; however, his residence was damaged in the blast. June P. Sangma, a Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) member, was arrested in connection to the incident.
