Incident Summary:
02/21/2013: Assailants clashed with the military at Town Hall in Gao city, Gao region, Mali. 16 perpetrators were killed and six soldiers were wounded between this attack and an attack that occurred on the previous day. This was one of three attacks on military targets in Gao on this day. No group claimed responsibility for the attack; however, authorities claim the Movement for Oneness and Jihad in West Africa carried out the attack.

Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack.
