Incident Summary:
03/27/2013: Armed assailants attacked a Dole Stanfil County plantation in Barangay Anahao Daan, Surigao del Sur province, Philippines. The assailants chopped down a number of banana plants and destroyed the stockroom. A security guard and employee were also abducted. No group claimed responsibility, but sources indicate that the New People's Army (NPA) was suspected. The outcome of the kidnapping is unknown.

Criteria
Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.
Criterion 2
There must be evidence of an intention to coerce, intimidate, or convey some other message to a larger audience (or audiences) than the immediate victims.
