Incident Summary:

04/04/2013: Assailants abducted Houmei Khangba from his home in Tumnoupokpi area, Manipur state, India. Khangba, the village chief and President of Thangal Union, was released on April 6, 2013 after the assailants realized that they had kidnapped the wrong person. The National Socialist Council of Nagaland-Isak-Muivah (NSCN-IM) claimed responsibility for the incident; however, the victim's relatives did not believe the claim to be genuine.
