Incident Summary:

04/16/2013: Assailants opened fire on the camps of road construction companies BSC and C&C in Swangre village, West Khasi Hills district, Meghalaya state, India. There were no reports of injuries or property damage in the attack. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, authorities attributed the attack to the Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) and stated that the incident was likely related to the companies' refusal to pay the group's extortion demand.
