Incident Summary:

04/16/2013: Gunmen opened fire on a Joint Task Force (JTF) patrol outside of a mosque in Baga village, Borno state, Nigeria. One soldier was killed in the attack. The incident sparked a three day raid on Baga village by JTF forces that eventually saw 187 people killed, 77 wounded, and scores of homes destroyed. Boko Haram claimed responsibility for the killing of the soldier in a video posted online.
