Incident Summary:

04/22/2013: Assailants abducted nine deminers in Maiwand district, Kandahar province, Afghanistan. The deminers were employees of the Mine Action Coordination Centre of Afghanistan. The captives were released on April 26, 2013. Authorities attributed the kidnapping to the Taliban; however, the group denied any involvement in the incident.
