04/23/2013: An explosive device detonated in Karachi city, Sindh province, Pakistan. The device detonated near a Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) election office. Two people were killed and at least 15 others were wounded. There was no claim of responsibility; however, sources indicate that Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) was suspected.

Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.

Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack.
