Incident Summary:

04/25/2013: Assailants attempted to kidnap a Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Bama, Borno state, Nigeria. Seventeen people, including ten assailants, were killed in a shootout after the kidnapping attempt failed. No group claim responsibility for the attack; however, officials suspected the attack was carried out by Boko Haram.
