05/02/2013: Assailants kidnapped three people, including a village leader, in Mahupadar area, Odisha state, India. Two of the abductees were released and the third, the village leader, was found dead on May 4, 2013. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, authorities attributed the attack to the Communist Party of India - Maoist (CPI-M), speculating that the village leader was identified as a potential police informant.
