06/16/2013: An explosive device detonated in Shirqat district, Saladin governorate, Iraq. The explosion targeted police, killing one officer and wounding three additional officers. This was one of 19 coordinated attacks around Iraq on June 16th, 2013. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources suspect Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) of the bombing.
