06/17/2013: Perpetrators kidnapped five Philippine Army 69th Infantry Battalion soldiers returning from a market in Paquibato district, Davao del Sur province, Philippines. The victims were released on July 31st, 2013. The New People's Army 1st Pulang Bagani Battalion claimed responsibility for the attack, stating that the military was being punished for its activities in the Paquibato district.
