Incident Summary:

06/23/2013: Assailants attacked a group of foreign hikers at a base camp in Astore district, Gilgit-Baltistan province, Pakistan. Eleven people were killed. Both Jundallah and Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) separately claimed responsibility for the attack, with the TTP claiming that the attack was in retaliation for a United States (US) drone strike that killed the group's second in command.
