Incident Summary:

06/23/2013: Gunmen attacked a joint army and police checkpoint in Al Anbar governorate, Iraq. One police officer was killed and two others were wounded in the assault. Before fleeing, the assailants also kidnapped two soldiers from the checkpoint. The bodies of the soldiers were found later in the day in the same area. No group claimed responsibility for the incident.
