06/28/2013: Assailants abducted a Turkish soldier to at a makeshift checkpoint in Lice district, Diyarbakir province, Turkey. The soldier, Yetkin Begen, was released unharmed on July 1, 2013. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, authorities attributed the abduction to the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).
