Incident Summary:

07/09/2013: An Afghan National Security Force (ANSF) soldier opened fire on North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) soldiers at Kandahar Airfield, Kandahar province, Afghanistan. One Slovakian NATO soldier was killed and at least five other soldiers were injured in the attack. The assailant was taken into custody after the incident; however, he escaped soon thereafter. At a later date, the Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack and confirmed the shooter was in their company.
