07/17/2013: Assailants opened fire on Balaram Dalai in Kumbhariput village, Odisha state, India. Dalai, a contractor, was killed in the attack. No group claimed responsibility; however, authorities attributed the incident to the Maoists and stated that Dalai was targeted because the assailants believed him to be a police informer.
