Incident Summary:

07/18/2013: Assailants opened fire on Dr. Sheikh Jalal-ud-din in Pampore city, Jammu and Kashmir state, India. At least three people, including Jalal-ud-din, a doctor and former director of the Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), and two police officers were killed in the attack. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, police attributed it to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
