07/23/2013: Assailants kidnapped Sheikh Ali Hussein Al-Azani from an unknown location in Yemen. Azani was the leader of a local Popular Committee. The victim's body was found on September 15, 2013 in Lahij governorate. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP).
