Incident Summary:

08/08/2013: Two assailants on motorcycles threw acid on Katie Gee and Kirstie Trup in Stone town, Zanzibar, Zanzibar West, Tanzania. Gee and Trup, both volunteer teachers from Britain, were injured in the attack. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, Sheikh Issa Ponda Issa was arrested for involvement in the attack.
