Incident Summary:

08/23/2013: A suicide bomber in an explosives-laden vehicle detonated near a military checkpoint in Shibam city, Hadramawt governorate, Yemen. In addition to the bomber, at least two Yemeni soldiers were killed and another four were injured in the blast. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, security officials attributed the attack to Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP).
