Incident Summary:

08/28/2013: A suicide bomber detonated in a restaurant in Mahmoudiyah city, Babil governorate, Iraq. In addition to the bomber, at least five people were killed and 15 others were wounded in the blast. This was one of 18 coordinated bombings in Baghdad on the same day. Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) claimed responsibility, stating that the incidents were in retaliation for the execution of Sunni prisoners on August 19, 2013.
