08/29/2013: Assailants shot and killed Salem Ahmed Hasan at a market in Lahij, Yemen. Authorities believed Hasan was targeted because the assailants suspected he was a homosexual. No group claimed responsibility; however, authorities attributed the attack to Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP).
