Incident Summary:

08/31/2013: Assailants kidnapped a police officer in Saravena city, Arauca department, Colombia. Officer Diego Felipe Gutierrez was killed and discovered by September 9th, 2013. Gutierrez was killed and his body was discovered on September 9, 2013. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed it to the National Liberation Army of Colombia (ELN).
