09/04/2013: A suicide bomber attempted to detonate an explosives-laden vehicle near a police checkpoint in Hodan neighborhood, Mogadishu city, Banaadir region, Somalia. The assailant was killed when the device prematurely detonated. This was one of six coordinated blasts in Mogadishu this evening. Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the incident.
