Incident Summary:
10/14/2013: A roadside bomb detonated next to Ali Hussein's vehicle in Yathrib city, Saladin governorate, Iraq. Hussein, a local council member, was killed and one other person was injured in the blast. This was one of two consecutive attacks in this area on this day. This first incident drew police and military responders to the scene, where they were targeted by the second attack. No group claimed responsibility for the incident.

Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.
