Incident Summary:

12/17/2013: Assailants opened fire on a police patrol in Makhachkala city, Dagestan republic, Russia. Two people, a police officer and a civilian, were killed and two others, another officer and another civilian, were injured in the ensuing clash. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, Russian officials identified one of the assailants as Kurban Omarov, a member of a Makhachkala-based group.
