Incident Summary:

01/09/2014: Assailants attacked a military base in Damboa town, Borno state, Nigeria. Nigerian soldiers immediately retaliated, killing 38 assailants. One soldier was also killed and two soldiers were injured in the exchange of gunfire. Soldiers also found and defused several cylinder bombs after the attack. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to Boko Haram.
