Incident Summary:

01/24/2014: An explosive device detonated near police vehicles parked at the Behooth metro station in Dokki district, Giza governorate, Egypt. At least two police officers were killed and at least 11 other people were injured as a result of the blast. This was one of four coordinated attacks which occurred in or around Cairo on this day. Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis (Ansar Jerusalem) claimed responsibility for the incidents, stating that the attacks were intended to avenge the killings of supporters of deposed president Mohammad Morsi.
