02/07/2014: An assailant opened fire on a group of people in Yaha district, Yala province, Thailand. The targeted individuals included a defense volunteer, who was killed, and an assistant village head, who was one of two people injured in the attack. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, police attributed the attack to separatists.
