03/30/2014: Assailants abducted a provincial council candidate, Hussain Nazari, and at least eight of his supporters in Baghwadi area, Sari Pul city, Sari Pul province, Afghanistan. All of the hostages were killed on April 2, 2014. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the incident.

Criteria
Criteria 1

Successful Attack
Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack. For example, in a typical successful bombing, the bomb detonates and destroys property and/or kills individuals, whereas an unsuccessful bombing is one in which the bomb is discovered and defused or detonates early and kills the perpetrators.
