05/29/2014: Assailants abducted 153 Kurdish children near Aleppo city, Aleppo governorate, Syria. At least 148 hostages were released between June and October, 2014. An additional five hostages escaped on an unknown date. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the abduction to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
