06/10/2014: Assailants kidnapped 34 Kandahar University students and professors in Qarabagh district, Ghazni province, Afghanistan. One professor was wounded during the kidnapping. Twenty-four captives were released overnight on June 22-23, 2014, while the remaining hostages were released on June 23. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the incident.

Criteria
Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.
Criterion 2
