06/16/2014: Assailants abducted Gamal Shenouda in Arish city, North Sinai governorate, Egypt. Shenouda, a merchant and member of the Coptic Christian community, was released prior to July 1, 2014. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the abduction to Muslim fundamentalists.
